What a beautiful 5 day weekend we had. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we got so much done around the house (only the kids and I had the 5 days...Manny worked). The trees have turned such beautiful colors that everything around here looks gorgeous!! (I'll get the pictures on here soon.)

Thursday the kids all had flu shots and I got some running around done.

Friday Little M had preschool in the am and J went to daycare, Taina was stuck with us part of the day. Manny and I went to Lowes and got a new lawn mower (the other broke) and I shopped around in the outdoor section, only to find bushes and shrubs for 75% off. I ended up getting 9 different plants/shrubs...all for $45...the cost of 1 1/2 regular priced. We got the front flowerbed near the walkway all dug up and made decisions of what we will do there. We need to buy pavers, well the stacking kind and build a small retaining wall b/c the hill slopes down. My neighbor had dug up some hosta and tiger lilies so I got the hosta planted before getting Julian.

Saturday it was the kids and I so I cleaned up the garage. It seems that so much accumulates there and we need to get rid of stuff in a yard sale, except we don't have enough for one of our own. Julian played in his pack n play for an hour without making a sound....love it!!! My cousin's wife stopped by with their brand new baby...he is sooo cute and little. J is only almost 8 months and already I forget how he was that small and making that sweet little sound while drinking a bottle. J was quite interested in him, watching and smiling. He also thought his bottle was great and tried to drink it. Then we headed to great grandma's house to spend some time with her. She enjoyed seeing everything Julian does now and talking with Manny and Taina about school.

Sunday I got out and planted the tiger lilies in front of the stone wall along the road. Manny's grandmother came for a visit and we relaxed the rest of the evening. I love Sunday evenings after the kids go to bed....awesome shows on!!!

Unforgettable

Manny was 14 months old here and had just received a hair cut, courtesy of DADDY. Daddy told Mommy he was just going to give Manny a haircut with the clippers....a 3 or a 4 he said (that meant nothing to me). When he was all done....all 3 or 4 inches of Manny's hair was gone (I don't think that's the definition of a 3 or 4 on the clippers).

He still looked adorable though....but Daddy is NOT allowed to touch Manny's hair anymore (or Julian's for that sake).

Daddy and Manny have their special day on Fridays....Big n Little Day. They go to the barber shop every other Friday then to Pete's Hot Dog's for lunch. Manny usually comes home with a new toy that he conned Daddy into buying. Those days are special and I am glad you have them together (besides the fact it saves us daycare money). When will Julian be old enough to have special Friday's too?

Flower bed

I have never been one to get excited over flower beds, especially the upkeep of them.

When I was younger my mom was always outside weeding or planting and I stayed as far away as I could.

Things all changed once we moved into the new house. The pic isn't a great one but the area to the right of the walkway is my first project. I want to get all the grass dug up (hard to see but there is alot) and leveled out....build a small rock wall out from the house just to make it look like 2 levels.

I started digging up grass today...took a long time for the area I got done. Dad told me tonight it would go alot faster if I got a round tip shovel instead of the flat one I was using. Manny promised to go with me to Lowes in the morning to get the right shovel.

The kids played nicely while I worked for about an hour tonight. Julian was so content in the pack n play with all of his toys and Taina and Manny rode bikes.

My neighbor across the street dug up and brought over some Tiger Lilies and Hosta...I'm going to plant those tomorrow (love the 5 day weekend!!!!)
I'm not sure though which side of the stone wall to plant the tiger lilies on. I can do the road side or the house side. Any suggestions. I'm going to plant the hosta on the side of the house with some shade.

No need for words...

Differences

Differences are good....especially in brothers! It amazes me every day how Manny and Julian are so different.

  • First difference is as soon as you see them; Manny is dark hair, brown eyes.... Julian is light hair (lighter than mine) and lighter eyes....can't tell if they are hazel or what.
  • At this age in life Manny was wearing 18 months...Julian is wearing 9 months, some things 12 months (most 12 months are big on him).
  • Julian already has 2 teeth (5 months) and has 4 more coming in. Manny didn't get his first tooth until he was 8 months (about 2 weeks from now for Julian)
  • Julian has been crawling since 6 1/2 months....Manny crawled at 7 1/2 months.
  • Manny had so much hair he had his first hair cut at 6 months....Julian may need one by the time he's 1 yo.

One thing that is the same though is their love for their mommy. That's right...I am proud to have TWO Momma's boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the both of you soooooo much!!!!! I always heard you never know a mother's love until you are a mother and oh that is soo right!!! I have such a love for these two that I would do ANYTHING for them!!!

Julian was in awe with the dryer this morning. As I threw clothes in he pulled them out. He pulled himself up to the dryer and stood there watching for a good 3 minutes.

A sad moment for Mommy

Manny slept over his cousins' house for the first time anywhere last night and loved it. My little boy is growing so quickly. Many times in the past my sister in law or mother in law have tried to get Manny to sleep over and he would never leave me. Well last night they came to visit and Manny kept telling me he was going to Titi's house. Now I thought nothing of it because he's said this before and always refused when the time came....but when it came time to leave last night he ran and hopped in the car. We kept telling him he was going to sleep there, without us and we weren't going to come get him if he woke up crying (of course I would have been in the car, on the highway in a flash....)
I talked with him this morning and our conversation went something like this:
Me: "Hi baby, how are you!?!?!"
M: "I sleeping over here again"
and then he is gone...uummm guess he's not missing me much!!

I'm glad he is enjoying his cousins, but I am sad that he's no longer my baby who won't leave my side....Julian you poor child now Mommy is going to have to smother you!!!
