Pumpkin Picking 2007

We went pumpkin picking at the Hoyt's today. The kids had such a great time. This was Manny's first time picking pumpkins and he only wanted the "baby pumpkins". The gords became bats for Manny as he tried to hit his golf balls with them.

A few pics of Manny

Manny fell asleep waiting for Mommy and Taina to get ready to go shopping. He must have been tired because he never falls asleep on his own, at least not with me!

I found this costume in a tub of clothes I had saved of Taina's. Taina wore this when she was 3 1/2 and it was big on her. I couldn't get Manny to put it on and once I convinced him to show mommy how it fit I couldn't get it off. I think he looks soooo cute!!!

Such a big boy!

Each day I look at Manny and see him growing in so many ways. He loves going to "school" and has to bring his backpack, just like Taina and I. He was excited to show me his apple painting the other day, because they are learning the letter "a" this week. We go through a bunch of words that start with "a" and his response every time is apple. His vocabulary is growing as well. He surprises me sometimes with what comes out of his mouth. Yesterday I pulled out onto the highway and he yells "Slow it down, no go fast!" I turned and looked at him. He was looking out the window, down at the ground and I said, "What did you just say?" He said, "Slow it down." Okay, where did that one come from?? And I wasn't even going fast!! He has a terrible ear infection this week. It helps that he has the tubes because it drains, but he doesn't like me wiping it because it hurts him. When I try to clean it he tells me "Donna do it ready" in other words, don't touch it, it was done at some point today. On the other hand he still is a baby, and will always be my baby. He wants me to carry him at times and he loves to cuddle and read before bed. I love this time with him and hope it continues as he gets older *not the carrying part...that is extremely hard right now* Mommy loves you so much my love bug!!

Baby

Well we had a sonogram done today and we found out we are having another little boy. The lady is not 100% sure, she didn't even sound 70% sure. She was not nice and didn't show me anything. Now if this had been my first sonogram ever I would think no differently, but being that I had a ton with Manny, I know they go through each and every body part, listen to the heartbeat, etc. I am very disappointed by my results, not the boy, but the grouchy, nastiness of the woman. I am asking for another sonogram at my next appointment. I have a really good doctor, so I hope she'll send me. I was secretly hoping for a girl though, but a boy is very practical. I have everything I need and the two boys can share a room, everything just makes sense. I know there is a reason for everything, maybe God feels Taina will be enough for me to handle, and I shouldn't have to have the attitude and everything with another girl. Whatever the reason, I just want a healthy baby. Oh yeah....and a calmer one than Manny. He is so energetic and loud, I need a quiet, laid back, sleeper.....please!!!!!

Grandma's big helper

Manny was enjoying his ride from Grandma...until the weeds started itching his back. He is asking her for help in this picture, to get out.

Well school has begun and I am exhausted already. The first week back is always the hardest. Trying to get back into the routine and having to have everybody out of the house so early is like working a job in itself. Then I go to work and relax (ha). My class this year seems to be great so far. The boys are so chatty, more so than the girls. I am sort of excited to only have to work until February, the stinky part is having to come back at some point before the school year is over. I would love to stay home the remainder of the year like I did with Manny, but with the new house being built we won't be able to afford it. I am hoping to stay out at least 12 weeks. I couldn't imagine bringing a 6 week old to daycare. I love Michelle, but a newborn belong at home with mommy. I've already let everyone in the family know that if Manny needs to stay home a day because of illness, they will all have to chip in. I need to save every last day I have (34 to be exact) for the little one. I can only use 30 of those days on a "maternity" leave and maybe the 4 before I give birth. My due date is February 15, I would love to be able to work up to the 14th (then it's a 4 day weekend at school). We will see what the future holds. For now I am taking it one day at a time and waiting anxiously for my ultrasound at the end of the month. I can't wait to see what I am having (they better be able to tell....baby you'd better behave).
