37 weeks and no end in sight

So I had my weekly Dr appointment and the non stress test...and I am still closed and he is high...and she doesn't want to induce me yet!! So I am going to have to wait at least another week, unless he decides to come on his own. I've lost another pound, yes I eat so I don't know why. I am tired of the pins and needles in my hands, now it is a constant thing in my left hand... It amazes me how different each pregnancy is. I had the perfect pregnancy with Manny and not that this one has been horrible, it's just been filled with so many different issues that I never had with him (morning sickness, failed the first diabetes test, preeclampsia, tingly fingers). Oh little one I can't wait to meet you!!! I love you so much already!!

37 weeks

Little peanut got an 8 out of 8 on the biophysical sonogram today. He moved the entire time (thanks to the DD M&M donut I ate before going in). The latest guesstimate: 7 lbs. 3 oz. and due February 14. This is just what I though last week, we'd be back to my original due date (ok it's one day off). We'll see what Dr. D. says on Wednesday. I am fine with her inducing me next week but she may not want to. I am concerned that he lost 2 oz from last week; but I know these estimates can be off a whole pound. It all depends on the person doing the measuring. I'll update you more on Wednesday!!

"Not I" and potty training

Have you ever had something happen around the house and all of the "Not I's" stand up. It reminds me of the Family Circus cartoon in the paper. Somehow Friday or Saturday "someone" had my keys and bent the truck key. Now, Big Manny had the truck all day Friday (I didn't drive) and he used the keys Saturday morning to get something out. He claims there was nothing wrong with the key then. Now, we (the kids and I) were home all day yesterday and at no time did Little Manny have the keys, believe me I would have known, because I would have had a hard time taking them away. At about 4 yesterday afternoon I decided to take a quick run up to the house to see the cabinets. I grabbed the keys (didn't notice anything) and got everyone in the truck. I went to start the truck and realized the key was bent. After a few choice words and a call to Manny (no answer) I decided to bend the key back and go on my way. We went and walked through to see the progress then came home. When I went to take the key out of the ignition it broke and part of the key is left in there. The truck has to be towed tomorrow to the dealership and somehow get that key piece out. Now, Big Manny blames me for the bent key (I didn't have the key at all) and tells me I was lazy to not walk back into the house and get the spare key instead of the broken bent one. I don't call it lazy, I call it 9 months pregnant and not going all the way back inside to look for a lost key. Now he has to take me for my sonogram in the morning, then hopefully we'll get a rental.

On a side note I am sooooo proud of my little man!!!! He has been "using" the potty at daycare since June or so and will stay dry most days because they automatically put him on the potty every so often. At home it has been a different story. Up until recently I haven't been able to get him to go on the potty, except before bath time. Now that I am home and we go nowhere I have been letting him run around without a diaper or pull up on and putting him on the toilet every so often. These past two days besides me sending him, he has told me quite a few times he has to go and off we go running. It's quite a production...he has to take off his shorts (if he has any on), then get the stool, climb up onto the toilet and do a 5 point turn. I swear his foot or knee is going to go into the bowl sometime or so it looks. After he goes he has to hop off, flush, and wash his hands. A little while again we took his "nap time" pull up off and he told me had to go potty a little while later. Not even five minutes back into playing and he tells me to hurry, he has to go potty. Well I am skeptical but go back with him and he did go a little more. I am so proud that he is taking the initiative on his own now. Yesterday he asked me to put a diaper on so he could go hide and go poopy (the toilet scares him for this). Don't get me wrong though, if he has a pull up or a diaper on at home he will just go in there and not even tell me he has to go until after, "Mommy I wet." Keep up the good work big boy!!

I want to win a sleepy wrap!!

">

I have been doing lots of research about babywearing, but I have yet to buy a sling or wrap. I never wore Manny but I want to with this baby. Besides, I will need two hands to keep after the two year old, what better way to still "give" to the baby too. De Reviews is giving away a sleepy wrap to one lucky winner....go ahead and check it out. Enter, and if you win and don't need the wrap; I'll take it from you!!

Baby bump update

At this morning's sonogram the little peanut did quite well. The girl doing it didn't even take the 30 minutes to get everything in that she needed to. I was out of there 15 minutes later and he had moved the entire time. These results are much better than last weeks. This weeks guesstimate is: 7 lbs. 5 oz. and due February 6. By the time I am done I am going to be right back to my original due date.

Of course being that I was out I had to make a "quick" stop. I ran to Babies R Us and got a few more bibs, receiving blankets, and burp cloths. For some reason I cannot find all of mine and I definitely need them. Being that everything is still in storage and it doesn't look like we will move in before the baby is born, there are just some things I have to buy. I am doing without a swing and bouncy seat for the first few weeks....what am I going to do with this baby? Where will I put him? I guess I'll just have to hold him and sleep every time he sleeps!! That is something I didn't do with Manny and I know I need to with this one.

Handy Manny and Taina's 8th Birthday

At the house yesterday Manny took it upon himself to help clean upHere he is playing with his "tools"

Taina blowing out her candles...next to her is our nephew who is one week younger than her

Manny was having fun with one of his cousins "rocking"

He is obsessed with band aids and finding boo-boos....here he had one on his nose

Baby update

I just came from my weekly sonogram and the now unnamed munchkin didn't get an "A+" this week. He got a "B" because she couldn't check his "tone". This just means during the 30 minutes of the timed test he didn't wiggle his fingers or his toes. She admitted he could have done it while she was checking other things but because she didn't see him do it she couldn't give him an A+. He looked cute though all curled up with his little hand under his chin...I think he was napping because usually he goes crazy with movement during sonograms and at the doctors when they monitor his heartbeat. Last week she told me I was 37 weeks and due January 30th or something like that. Today, a week later I was told I am 37 weeks and due February 3. From measuring his bone in his leg, abdomen, waist and head they predict he is 6 lbs. 14 oz right now. The screen also said right after is (+/- 16 oz). We'll just have to wait and see how big he is and when he decides to arrive (or the when the doctor helps him arrive). She told me at last weeks visit she will take him earlier and not let me go to my due date. She was specific with details because I believe she is taking one day at a time.

Crazy weather

It is 60 degrees outside and January 8; that is insane. I had a sonogram yesterday and the little one is doing great. She said his movements were great (he moved the entire time she was trying to find things) and that is getting squished in there. She also (different woman than last time) said he was measuring big and put me at 37 weeks (not the 34 weeks that they thought). I still think I am only 34 weeks, I just have big babies. Look at Manny; not many people believe he is only 2 1/2....he is the size of a 3-4 year old. I go to the doctor tomorrow so we'll see what she says. I am no where mentally ready for this baby. I am just starting to enjoy my bed rest. I am almost finished reading Second Glance by Jodi Picoult and I have 2 more of her books to get through; not to mention I have to wash all the baby clothes and a million other things on my list. I would like to push having the baby off into February as far as I can!!

Funny story...last week during one of Manny's baths he saw his father's razor and told me he wanted to shave. I told him he was a baby and couldn't shave. Well, you can't call him baby without him getting bent out of shape. His response was " I NOT A BABY, I A BOY!!!" My response was, "Yes, you are a boy and boys don't shave, men shave." "I a man." "No you aren't, men have jobs and drive cars." "I work, I a builder, I have cars, I a man!!" Needless to say, he didn't get the razor but he tried hard. Just like his father, he has to have the last word in every conversation we have!!

Happy New Year!!

If today's weather is any prediction of the weather ahead for the year, we are in for some snow. The kids are just as tired of being in the house as I am....so Daddy took them out late this afternoon to build a snowman. The kids had a great time making it and I think Daddy even enjoyed taking part. I am glad tomorrow is back to school and daycare; they need to get back into a routine. I am also going to work for the next three days to get things ready for my sub...I am looking forward to being out of the house as well.
